Urgent Care at LIPS Healthcare Battersea - London

LIPS Emergency Clinic

Most of us know that “in-between” situation: you’re worried, in pain, or unwell — but it doesn’t feel like a 999 emergency. You may not be able to get a GP appointment quickly, and you may not want to wait for hours in a busy A&E.

When A&E isn't the right fit

The NHS provides outstanding care for serious, life-threatening emergencies. But if your problem is urgent (and not a 999 emergency), A&E can be difficult — especially when departments are very busy.

You may experience:

01

Long waits, particularly at peak times

Hours of uncertainty before you're seen, with no way to plan.

02

Uncertainty about who you'll see and when you'll be reviewed by a senior doctor

No guarantee of when or by whom you will be assessed.

03

No appointment system — you arrive and wait

Walk-in only, with no ability to book or plan your day.

04

Limited follow-up planning

A&E is designed to prioritise urgent emergencies and patient flow — follow-up planning is limited.

Can I be seen?

Our consultants can assess adults and children but please note there are certain exclusion criteria which include very small children.

Private GP vs Private Urgent Care

If you need help with a routine health problem or ongoing care, a private GP is usually the best place to start. Private GPs can help with health checks, prescriptions, referrals, medication reviews, and longer-term health concerns.

If you have a sudden illness or injury that needs urgent attention today, private urgent care may be more suitable. This can include cuts, infections, possible fractures, dehydration, chest symptoms, or severe headaches that need quick assessment.

Private GP

Routine & Ongoing Care

  • Health checks, prescriptions, referrals
  • Medication reviews
  • Longer-term health concerns
  • Non-urgent conditions
  • Ongoing (chronic problems)
  • Minor illnesses like coughs or colds
  • Women’s health issues

Private Urgent Care

Urgent Same-Day Problems

  • Cuts, infections, possible fractures
  • Dehydration, chest symptoms
  • Severe headaches needing assessment
  • Pain that can't wait
  • Injuries
  • New (acute) problems
  • More complex problems that might need further investigation or treatment

Private GP is for routine and ongoing care.

Private Urgent Care is for urgent problems that need same-day help.

If needed, private urgent care may also provide rapid tests, imaging, and treatment in one place.
