Mr Paul Harnett at the World Triathlon Championships
Very pleased (and momentarily exhausted) after a successful World Triathlon Championships (long distance) in Denmark last month. I came 2nd for GB (age category) and 16th overall (age category).
I managed to stay injury-free during training and the race itself after working closely with the sports physiotherapists based at www.puresportsmed.com on stretching and nutrition advice. As it was a 3/4 Ironman distance, nutrition was important for a strong finish. The stretching helped me avoid proximal hamstring tendinitis which I've struggled with in the past.
Huge thank you to my sponsor www.nolabelfitness.co.uk who provided lots of kit and a snazzy GB triathlon suit.
I was also the designated team doctor for the event but luckily wasn't needed. Everyone came back injury free!
