Synopsis
Claire is a Consultant Upper Limb Orthopaedic Surgeon at the UK’s largest NHS trust, Barts Health.
Specialising in a wide range of complex shoulder and elbow reconstructive treatments including arthroscopic and replacement surgery, Claire has excelled in all aspects of upper limb care.
As well as achieving a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education, Claire is an approved Royal College of Surgeons Advanced Trauma Life Support® Instructor training junior orthopaedic surgeons across the UK in the management of acute life-threatening injuries.
Claire has published scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and played a key role in setting up a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) clinical randomized controlled trial.
History
Having graduated in 2003 from the University of Wales, College of Medicine, Claire completed her higher surgical training spanning both the Welsh and London regions, undertaking prestigious upper limb fellowships at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital as well as University College Hospital.
Claire was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2015 at Newham University Hospital and is an integral part of the orthopaedic team delivering trauma fracture care at the prestigious Royal London Hospital, the largest trauma centre in Europe.
