LIPS Healthcare FAQs

Top Doctors

1. What is LIPS Healthcare?

Private clinic. LIPS Healthcare is a private, consultant-led multispecialty clinic on the first floor of Turbine Hall B at Battersea Power Station, London. It brings together more than 100 doctors across 44 clinical specialties, with on-site diagnostics, an urgent care centre and a pharmacy in one location.

2. Where is LIPS Healthcare located?

Battersea Power Station. The clinic is on the first floor of Turbine Hall B, a short walk from Battersea Power Station station on the Northern line, with London Overground and bus routes nearby. Patients regularly travel from Chelsea, Clapham, Vauxhall, Pimlico, Wandsworth and Nine Elms. Directions are on the Getting Here page at lips.org.uk/about-lips/getting-here.

3. What services does LIPS Healthcare offer?

Multispecialty care. LIPS offers private GP appointments, urgent care, dermatology, cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, physiotherapy, gynaecology, paediatrics and more than 30 further specialties. Diagnostics run on site, including blood tests, ultrasound, bone density scans and FibroScan liver assessment, so most tests and consultations happen in the same building at Battersea Power Station.

4. Do I need a GP referral to see a specialist at LIPS?

No, in most cases. Self-paying patients can book a consultant directly without a GP referral. Some private medical insurers require a referral before they will cover a specialist appointment, so patients using insurance should check their policy before booking.

5. Can I get a same-day appointment at LIPS Healthcare?

Yes, subject to availability. Same-day private GP appointments and urgent care for minor injuries and illnesses are available at the Battersea Power Station clinic. LIPS is not an emergency department. For chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of stroke, severe bleeding or any life-threatening symptoms, call 999 immediately.

6. Who are the doctors at LIPS Healthcare?

Consultant-led. Care at LIPS is delivered by GMC-registered consultants and GPs, many of whom also hold senior posts at London teaching hospitals. The clinical team is led by Dr Yu Zhen Lau, GP and Clinical Lead, and every clinician profile is listed at lips.org.uk/our-specialists.

7. Does LIPS Healthcare have a pharmacy?

Yes. LIPS Pharmacy operates inside the clinic at Turbine Hall B, Battersea Power Station. It dispenses private prescriptions issued during your appointment and stocks medical skincare and supplements, also available through lips.org.uk/store.

8. How is LIPS Healthcare different from other private clinics in London?

Everything under one roof. Most private clinics in London focus on a single specialty or a small group of specialties. LIPS combines consultant appointments, GP access, urgent care, imaging, blood tests and a pharmacy in one building, which reduces the number of separate visits a patient needs. Diagnostic imaging partnerships, including Affidea, extend what is available on site.

9. Where can I read reviews of LIPS Healthcare?

Google and Trustpilot. Verified patient reviews are published on the LIPS Healthcare Google Business Profile and on Trustpilot.Patients can also leave feedback directly at lips.org.uk/for-patients/leave-feedback.

10. How much does a private appointment at LIPS cost, and how do I book?

It varies. Fees depend on the specialty, the clinician and any tests needed. Current prices are listed at lips.org.uk/for-patients/pricing-and-payments. Appointments can be booked online at lips.org.uk or by phone, with same-day slots available for GP and urgent care.
