Synopsis
Dr Arti Mahto is a London trained Rheumatologist with an interest in early inflammatory arthritis, biologic treatment and musculoskeletal ultrasound. She also has a dual qualification in general internal medicine.
She is currently a consultant Rheumatologist at Kings College Hospital where she provides early assessment and treatment of inflammatory arthritis and is the adolescent rheumatology lead. Her experience and use of musculoskeletal ultrasound allow her to accurately diagnose inflammatory conditions and fibromyalgia. She has also led a dedicated fibromyalgia project at Whipps Cross Hospital in conjunction with pain specialists, physiotherapy and psychology.
She is personable and friendly and has a keen interest in teaching and has also been involved in patient groups locally. She speaks Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.
History
Dr Arti Mahto trained at Cardiff University and completed her specialist training across several prestigious hospitals around North and East London. She was awarded her PhD by Queen Mary’s University and Barts London exploring the role of B-cells within the synovium and response to rituximab therapy. She has presented her work at international conferences and has a number of publications focusing on the role of the synovium in rheumatoid arthritis.
