Mr Millington is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon working at Barts Health NHS trust.

He is head of the department at the Barts Health Orthopaedic Centre which is the dedicated regional elective orthopaedic surgery centre for the north east Thames region. He also works at the largest trauma centre in Europe, the Royal London Hospital, providing care for patients with complex traumatic injuries.

He trained at St Bartholomew’s and Royal London teaching hospital and was appointed as a consultant at Barts Health in 2014 and became the head of department for the Barts Health Orthopaedic Centre.

He specialises in lower limb elective and trauma surgery and has led the development and expansion of the Centre to become the regional elective orthopaedic centre Mr Millington provides a range of services ranging from routine hip and knee replacements through to the most complex revisions requiring custom mega-prosthesis, in addition to treating sports injuries such as ligament, cartilage and meniscus conditions with keyhole surgery.

For many years, Mr Millington worked overseas in leading university teaching hospitals in the USA, Austria and Australia and works closely with leading consultants across London to provide the best level of care possible to UK and overseas patients.

Qualifying from Medicine from the University of Nottingham in 1998, having previously attained a BMedSci from the University of Nottingham in 1996. He undertook his PhD in the field of articular cartilage research working at the University of Virginia, USA, Technical University of Graz, Austria and the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. His PhD was awarded by the University of Nottingham in 2008. After working as a trauma surgeon at the Medical University of Vienna he returned to the UK and completed training on the Royal London Hospital program. He subsequently undertook prestigious specialist fellowships in joint reconstruction and tumour surgery at internationally renowned centres in Melbourne, Sydney and Vienna before returning to the Royal London Hospital.
