Mr Samit Unadkat is a fellowship trained Consultant ENT & Facial Plastic Surgeon and works at the Royal National ENT & University College Hospital, London – the UK national centre for complex ear, nose & throat disorders. He manages the full spectrum of ENT conditions but has a super-specialist interest in sinonasal and reconstructive nasal surgery. Owing to the nature of the work at the Royal National ENT Hospital, he frequently treats patients referred from around the country, many of whom have had surgery performed elsewhere.
The bulk of his practice is centred around complex sinus surgery and both functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty surgery. He also has a growing practice of patients with snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea.
Mr Unadkat is committed to teaching the next generation of ENT Surgeons and runs educational courses at University College London (UCL). He has authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications, several book chapters and is frequently an invited speaker nationally and internationally to academic meetings. He also represents the speciality internationally and was the inaugural president of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS), Junior Members Board between 2018 and 2021. He is also a full member of the British Society of Facial Plastic Surgery (BSFPS) and ENT UK.
Mr Samit Unadkat was awarded the Dr Harold Edwards Scholarship as the top-ranking candidate to read medicine at Imperial College London. He completed his foundation, basic and higher surgical training in London and was runner-up nationally for selection on to the ENT training programme. Having won several undergraduate and postgraduate prizes, he completed his extensive training in numerous centres of excellence in London including The Royal National ENT Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital & St Bartholomew’s & The Royal London Hospitals. Following completion of his training, Mr Unadkat undertook an additional year of fellowship training at Charing Cross & The Royal Brompton Hospitals – one of the only accredited fellowships in Europe dedicated to both complex rhinoplasty and advanced sinus surgery in Europe. He has also completed a further visiting period of observership in Vancouver, Canada.
