Synopsis
Dr Jayakar is a Senior Consultant Haematologist at Kingston Hospital, London (started in 2010), with academic attachments (Lead for education and training) at Kings College London (Since 2017) and holds a Sen Lecturer post at Imperial College, London.
He is adept in treating all malignant and benign haematological conditions, inclusive of Lymphoma, Myeloma, Leukaemia’s, red cell disorders and thrombosis. He leads haemato-oncology and transfusion services at Kingston Hospital.
Dr Jayakar is well renowned with his teaching prowess and runs the successful FRCPATH courses, oversubscribed by senior haematology trainees in UK and Ireland since 2012. He is the co-organiser (and main tutor) of the venerable Imperial Haematology courses with Prof Bain.
He has delivered teaching workshops and invited lectures in Europe, UAE, Singapore, India, and Sri-Lanka, in addition to UK & Ireland.
After completing his medical education and postgraduate training in internal medicine from King Edward Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, India with 7 distinctions, Dr Jayakar did haematology SHO jobs at UCL and Royal Marsden, London whilst acquiring his MRCP qualification in 2003. He did his haematology specialist training at Imperial College NHS Trust-London (Hammersmith, St Mary’s and Royal Free Hospitals) acquiring his FRCPath- Haematology in 2008. Started as a Consultant haematologist at Kingston in 2010.
