Synopsis
Dr Vijay Kolli is the Clinical Lead of the Amputee and Musculoskeletal Trauma Rehabilitation service at St George's University Hospital, London and a Consultant in Rehabilitation medicine with specialties in Complex Musculoskeletal trauma and Amputee rehabilitation. He received training at St George's University Hospital in London. His interests include Spinal cord injury rehabilitation and Spasticity management.
History
Dr Vijay qualified and specialised in Trauma and Orthopaedics from India in 1998. After that, he worked in the UK in the field of Trauma and Orthopaedic for years before moving to London for his specialist training in rehabilitation medicine. His training was completed in London Deanery.
He also worked at the Wolfson Neuro rehabilitation centre and the regional spasticity centre based at St George’s University hospital in London. He trained in spinal cord injury rehabilitation at the London Spinal Cord Injury Centre in Stanmore.
In addition, he gained experience in trauma rehabilitation and worked at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Headley Court.
Currently, his role involves leading the Multidisciplinary team at the highly acclaimed Douglas Bader Rehabilitation Centre for Amputees which has pioneered in taking care of amputees since the Second World War. He is actively involved in Trauma rehabilitation at St George’s Hospital which is the biggest trauma centre in South West London.
